What do fun and creativity have to do with improved user experience and taxonomy? https://erp.today/what-do-fun-and-creativity-have-to-do-with-improved-user-experience-and-taxonomy/ Thu, 05 Sep 2024 17:00:05 +0000 https://erp.today/?p=126860 The article highlights how NewRocket, a ServiceNow partner, enhances user experience for businesses by implementing custom branding and refined navigation through extensive taxonomy consulting.

Today, the interface and accessibility of a web platform can really make or break the user experience. Even according to research published by IOP Publishing, having a high-quality user interface and user experience in an application can help users find information and solutions to problems faster.

Understanding this demand, businesses are now seeking opportunities to improve their branding and features like taxonomy to ease the website navigation and improve user and customer experience. However, for many organizations, this stage may seem like a gray area, with no clue on where to begin and what steps to take, especially if hiring an additional internal team in IT is not an option.

This is why global ERP systems’ partners develop solutions that can help achieve this goal. Among them is NewRocket, a ServiceNow partner that helps enterprise leaders through their transformation journey through advisory, managed services and more.

So, how do these solutions work in practice? Well, one example is the interface transformation journey of a recent NewRocket customer. An American video live-streaming service, the company focuses on video game streaming, competition broadcasts and creative content with over 1,500 employees worldwide.

The organization was looking for a solution that could help it implement custom branding into its Out-of-Band (OOB) portal and host several knowledge articles for users based on roles, location and legacy company. The primary challenge that the company faced in wishing to implement that goal was finding a way to improve the efficiency of the portal while simultaneously creating a new taxonomy to help users find relevant information quickly.

Enter NewRocket’s extensive taxonomy consulting services. Partnering with NewRocket, the business managed to create a refined topic-based browsing experience by introducing the vendor’s widgets in combination with the Employee Center’s topics and user criteria. According to NewRocket and its streaming service customer, this functionality presents the user with more relevant content on the homepage and topic pages which reduces search time and provides a simplified experience in one location.

Among the things that the live-streaming service provider managed to implement with the help of NewRocket were such features, as a Light and Dark Mode Theme Switcher which doesn’t add drastic changes to design elements and layout, as well as a “fun and engaging” portal throughout. By utilizing NewRocket’s RocketFuel and LaunchPad products along with the Employee Center, the client implemented refreshed branding across all departments by use of colors, fonts, images and design elements.

In the age of continuously changing social media environments and drastically reducing attention spans, technology does not have to be perceived as all-serious in every sphere. As an example of NewRocket’s collaboration with its client shows, it can also be about combining practicality and usability with fun features that would ultimately improve users’ and customers’ experience. Can serious progress and innovation go along with the appropriate amount of fun and humor? Looking at NewRocket’s client example, the answer seems to be “yes”.

To the stars: Curtiss-Wright reach for Original Software test automation https://erp.today/to-the-stars-curtiss-wright-reach-for-original-software-test-automation/ Wed, 15 Nov 2023 11:17:15 +0000 https://erptoday3.local/?p=120568 Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions has partnered with Original Software to develop test management and automation solutions, creating a self-learning knowledgebase for SAP processes that significantly reduces internal support time and prepares users for future changes.

Original Software has been chosen by aerospace and defense firm, Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions, to develop its test management and test automation solutions.

The aviation firm has an almost century-long history and provides solutions globally to the commercial industrial, defense and energy markets from its headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The need for automation tech became apparent when Kevin Webb, director of business systems SAP COE at Curtiss-Wright, and his team, noticed that supporting their large SAP instance was drawing a significant amount of time away from their core function. Answering internal tickets for SAP processes was consuming up to 60 percent of worker time.

Working with Original Software, Curtiss-Wright has completed the build of an online, self-learning knowledgebase for all its SAP processes with over 50 knowledge base resources now online in the form of PDFs, word documents and videos in order to outline the business’ core processes.

Original Software’s new tech will allow the 1,100 Curtiss-Wright SAP users to access self-learning documentation and videos via a centralized, user-friendly portal. These new changes are set to give users visibility over all processes and documentation, allowing appropriate preparation for future changes and the required user acceptance testing cycles over SAP.

On the success of the implementation so far, Webb commented: “My team was spending too much time addressing SAP how-to tickets. With Original Software we were able to immediately start capturing our processes and create intuitive step-by-step directions and videos of each core process. This created a self-serving knowledge base for everything SAP that users could access at any time.”

John McKillop, account manager at Original Software, added: “After some great initial success with this knowledgebase, Curtiss-Wright now plans to use the solutions to expand the knowledgebase to cover S/4HANA. They also have established strong foundations from which to develop test management and build test automation.”
